MSX1 Area
The MSX1 is the computer that got most people, including myself (droog^) into Jap computer emulation stuff. Its a simple Z80-based computer that was released in 1982, sorta an attempt to set a standard in home computers. They were popular in Asia and some places in Europe, and South America... although never released in N. America. The MSX family was first developed by ASCII and Microsoft, in fact, MSX stands for "MicroSoft eXtended BASIC." Now on to the capabilities of this machine. It had a Z80 CPU at 3.58MHz, along with a AY-3-8910 chip by General Instruments to handle the audio. The peak graphic capabilities the MSX1 had was 256x212 pixels w/ 16 colors and 32 sprites on screen at once, this was not bad at all for 1982-84. Thousands of great games were released on this baby, and I'll try to touch on the best of em.
